Protective mask: EN 14683 standard
ISO 9001, ISO 14001
The mask offered on this page is a protective mask made up of 3 filtration layers with elastic bands. The nose bridge adapts well to the silhouette of the face thanks to a foldable insert. It does not have the name of surgical mask in the strict sense of the European directives on protective masks and surgical masks.
Chinese producers often give it the name medical face mask because it is used in China in the medical environment. Its filtration capacity has been tested and remains very good. Its structure is also very close to that of a surgical mask.
Why buy a mask?
The main purpose of the mask is to allow infected people to protect their loved ones and limit the spread of Covid19.
What you should know about protective masks:
The masks are also called: hygiene mask or protective mask.
It is therefore the patients themselves who must wear a protective mask to reduce the risk of transmission of infectious agents (viruses) to their loved ones. Wearing a mask must obviously be combined with other protective measures (recommendation of the FOPH).
General precaution for the use of masks:
carefully apply the protective mask or surgical mask so as to cover the nose and mouth and attach it tightly so as to best adjust it to the face;
when wearing a protective or surgical mask, avoid touching it. Whenever you touch a used mask, for example by removing it, wash your hands with soap and water or with a disinfectant solution;
when it gets wet (after approx. 2 hours), replace it with a new clean and dry protective or surgical mask;
do not reuse disposable protective or surgical masks;
discard single-use masks after each use and immediately after removing them.
The mask alone does not guarantee safety. This is why, the use of masks must be associated with other hygiene measures aimed at preventing human-to-human transmission of viruses or bacteria.
